1. Who processes your data

The website and the accommodation are operated by Chalupa Za Kútom, 053 40 Slovinky, Zákuť 636/35, Slovak Republic.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (local storage) works in a similar way. They let a site remember your settings, or let its operator understand how the site is used.

Storing data on your device is governed by § 109 of Slovak Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on electronic communications and by the GDPR (Reg. 2016/679).

3. Necessary cookies

The site does not work without them, so they need no consent and cannot be switched off.

• Storing your cookie decision — so that we do not ask again on every page load.
• Administrator sign-in — a session cookie issued only to the owner after signing in to the booking administration. A regular visitor never receives it.
• Form security — protection of the booking and contact forms against misuse.

4. Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies let the operator see, in aggregate, how many people visited the site and which pages they viewed. They collect a truncated IP address, device and browser type, approximate location at city level, pages visited, the time and length of the visit, the traffic source and a randomly generated browser identifier. The data is evaluated in aggregate and is never linked to an individual.

• Legal basis: your consent — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 109 of Act No. 452/2021 Coll.
• Retention: browser identifier up to 24 months; data in the analytics account 14 months.
• Recipient: the analytics provider acting as our processor; data may also be processed outside the EEA under Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Withdrawing consent: at any time, using the button below or the cookie icon in the corner of the page. Withdrawal applies to the future only.

Current status: the site uses analytics cookies. They only run once you allow them in the cookie panel; without consent no measurement script loads at all.

Measurement tool: Google Analytics 4, deployed through Google Tag Manager. The tool is operated by Google Ireland Limited, which processes the data as our processor. Data in the analytics account is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.

Besides the page view, we measure the events listed below. Each one is sent only once the action has actually happened, not when a button is clicked:

• Contact form sent — at the moment the message opens in your email program. We send the form type and the page language, not the content of your message.
• Gift voucher order — likewise only when the email opens. We send the number of guests and nights, not your name or contact details.
• A click on a phone number or email address on the site.
• Going to the payment gateway — only once the gateway actually returns a payment address. We send the amount and the number of nights.
• A paid booking — only once the payment is confirmed in our system. Returning from the gateway is not treated as payment. We send the booking number, the amount and the currency.

Until you allow analytics cookies, no measurement script loads at all and none of these events leaves your browser.

5. Marketing cookies

We do not use them. There are no advertising or remarketing scripts on this site, no social-network pixels and no cross-site tracking tools. Should that change, you will be told on your next visit and asked for consent first.

6. Third-party services on the site

• Google Maps — the Contact page embeds a map showing where the cabin is. Loading it may give Google Ireland Limited your IP address and let it store its own files. The map only shows the location; we receive no data about you from it.
• Stripe — payment for a booking takes place on the site of the payment provider Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. Card details are entered there, never reach our website and are not stored by us.

7. How to change your decision

You can change your consent at any time using the button below or the cookie icon that stays in the corner of the page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings; once deleted, the site will ask you again on your next visit.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access to your data, to rectification and erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, the right to object and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Write to chalupazakutom@gmail.com.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the law or the range of services on the site changes. The effective date at the top of the document always tells you which version you are reading.
